Growth Mindset

Growth Mindset at Hoole St Michael

Here are Hoole St Michael we believe that every day is a great day to learn something new. We use the Growth Mindset principles that hard work, positive thinking and effort are the key to amazing learning. It is these qualities that we celebrate around our school in Star of the Week assembly. Our children are taught that mistakes mean we are discovering ways to solve problems. If we approach each challenge in life in a positive way and learn from our mistakes, we will be successful. Having a positive view of challenge means that our children will become more confident and have the coping strategies they need to thrive in the wider world.

Positive Affirmations

We encourage the children to create their own positive affirmations at times of challenge. These help to boost self-belief and confidence to try anything and everything!

These affirmations are great to use with children at home to encourage positive approaches to any challenges we face.

#Helloyellow

Friday 11th October 2019

We celebrated the power of positive thinking by having our very own #helloyellow day in school. We all dressed in bright colours and enjoyed lots of activities in class all about thinking positively. We also learnt the importance of being calm and tried lots of different breathing and mindfulness techniques to help us relax.
