Class Dojo

We use Class Dojo for our home-school communication.

Class Dojo is a free app that connects teachers with parents to build classroom communities. It connects teachers and parents who use it to share photos, videos, and messages through the school day. They use Class Dojo to work together as a team, share in the classroom experience, and bring big ideas to life in their classrooms and homes. School staff use Class Dojo as a communication platform to encourage pupils and parents engagement.

During these unprecedented times, we will use Class Dojo as an additional platform in which work can be shared and submitted to your child’s class teacher. There is also a secure messaging system in place where parents can connect with teachers privately with work related issues

Each child has a profile – complete with their own avatar – to which school staff  can assign ‘dojos’ throughout a lesson or anytime during the school day. This information is then recorded on childs’ profiles so that it can be reviewed throughout the year.

Parents also have logins so that they can view their child’s achievements from home – please contact your class teacher for your parent password and for information on how to register on the website (www.classdojo.com) or, you can download the ClassDojo app to your phone.

Dojo King or Queen

There are lots of ways your child can earn Class Dojos; following Christian Values, completing homework, helping others, having good manners, organisation, going above & beyond, working hard and being on task. Each week we announce our King or Queen of the Dojos in each class.

Messages

The messaging system within the Class Dojo app is a great way to contact the class teacher and discuss any issues that may arise or to ask any questions you have. You will receive whole school messages also.  We can upload homework, videos and photos and other types of documents

Private Messaging-You are able to send quick messages to the teachers connected to your child’s class. Please do not use this as a way of recording your child’s absence from school. Messages sent out of hours will not be seen by the teacher until the next working day. Teachers can use this to send quick messages out to parents. The messages sent are completely private between the parent and the teacher sending the message.

Class Story-This gives you a great insight into what your child is doing at school on a daily basis. The Class Story can give you an ‘Instagram / Twitter style’ timeline to see what activities have been going on in the classroom on a day to day basis. Parents can only view the Class Story for the class their child is in.

The School Story– is the same but everyone in the school can view these messages.

***It is important that photos on ClassDojo not be shared on other social media***

Class Dojo’s Mission

To bring communities together and give them the tools, ideas, and energy to improve education for all kids.

At ClassDojo, we want to transform education for every kid in the world. To do this – and do it soon – we have a simple plan: connect teachers, parents, and students in every classroom, and work with them every day to bring the best ideas into their classrooms.

It’s not about creating an “ideal” classroom, a one-size-fits-all model that everyone must fit, because there’s no such thing. Instead, we believe that teachers, parents and students should have the power to create an incredible classroom that is best for them. And, we believe that when you give good people simple ways to do the right things, amazing things will happen.

That’s how we believe we can transform education. Together. By helping every teacher, parent, and student in the world create an incredible classroom all their own
