I have been involved in church-based schools work for 12 years and have been a governor in 3 other primary schools. I am regularly in school leading Collective Worship, Worship Group and providing RE support in each class, so know the children and staff well. I also have good relationships with many families through the church, especially our regular Family Church and Sunday School. I think it is vital that the church and the school work together for the community and my involvement in school helps this to happen. I love being in school each week and spending time with the children and staff. |

I am pleased to serve as a governor at the school and to support its ongoing improvement journey. I bring with me a professional background that has developed strong skills in organisation, problem-solving, and accountability, alongside experience of working with policies, compliance, and structured decision-making. These skills help me to contribute constructively to discussions around leadership, safeguarding, and the effective running of the school. In my professional life, I am used to working in environments where clear systems, evidence, and continuous improvement are important, and I am keen to apply this experience in a way that supports the school’s leadership while always keeping pupils’ wellbeing and outcomes at the centre. I also have strong links with the local church community, which gives me a good understanding of the school’s values and its role within the wider community. As a parent with children who have attended, and who currently attend, the school, I have a personal investment in its success and a clear understanding of the importance of a safe, nurturing, and aspirational learning environment. As a governor, I am committed to offering appropriate challenge and support, working collaboratively with fellow governors and school leaders, and helping to ensure that the school continues to meet the needs of its pupils while striving for continual improvement.

| Sarah Lamb | Foundation Governor, SEC Committee
I qualified as a primary school teacher in 2004 and I’ve worked in primary education since. In the past I have been on the governing board of two other primary schools. My family has a long connection to Hoole school and church. My grandmother and great grandmother both taught here and through my family I currently hold the patronage for Hoole St Michael’s and all Angles. When the previous incumbent at church asked if I’d be interested in being a governor I happily agreed. |
| Kevin Coulson | Parent Governor, Resources Committee
I am a Parent Governor at the school and work in a senior engineering leadership role in the technology sector, with over 18 years’ experience in software development and team leadership. I am passionate about using technology to improve lives and support strong, well-run organisations. As a parent, I am committed to supporting the school community and helping to ensure that every child has the best possible educational experience. I have one child who previously attended the school and is now in high school, and one child who is currently a pupil here. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family and working on creative projects through my hobby of 3D printing. I am proud to support the school and contribute to its continued success. |

I thoroughly enjoy working at and being part of the school community at Hoole St Michael. Working in a Primary School office has always been my dream job and it truly is everything I had hoped it would be, and more. Not only do I work in the office but I am also a welfare assistant at lunch times, which has given me the opportunity to get to know all the children even more and become an approachable, familiar figure around school. With my knowledge of how the school runs behind the scenes, daily positive interactions with the children and a passion for our village and school to succeed, I believe my time as staff governor will be that of a productive one.
As a mum of two myself, living in Much Hoole, I know just how important strong local links are and I am committed to ensure the school continues it’s journey of growth and positive change and updates.
